BAGIS-H - Basin Analysis GIS for Hydrologic Response Units
The BAGIS-H tool provides the following four major functions. We anticipate that a beta version of BAGIS-H will be
available on the Downloads page in late October 2011.
- HRU delineation: This function allows the user to define a set
of HRU zones using a customizable set of rules and templates. The resulting
layer represents a set of hydrologically homogenous layers.
- HRU post-processing: Post-processing functions allow a set of
HRU zones to be refined by removing zones that are too small, merging zones based
on similarity of the zones, subsetting zones to form a new output layer, or inntegrating
HRU zones from multiple HRU layers
- Process logging: This function records all actions that are
taken when defining or refining a set of HRU zones. The log documents a complex
process and eases the iterative processes required to fine-tune algorithms.
- Data management module: This function maintains a
well-organized datastore in ESRI file geodatabase format and allows close
examination of data layers in ArcMap. Outside layers can be added to the
analysis using this function.
